Making money through blogging isn't the most common way of making money online, but it has the potential to make you a lot of cash. The key to making money with a blog is being patient. You will not make money today, nor  will you make money tomorrow. Honestly, you probably won't have fifty dollars by the end of the month, but by the end of this month next year, you could be making $500 per month. Do not blog just to make money. You will not have a successful blog if making money is your only concern. A good way to avoid this mistake is to blog about something you love. If you like fishing, blog about fishing. If you like video games, blog about video games. Blog about something you enjoy writing about.

I recommend blogger for people that are just starting out. Blogger is very user friendly, and it is run by Google, so if you have a Google account you can start a blog in a few seconds! Blogger also allows you to buy a custom domain for only ten dollars which is quite cheap. Once you start a blog on blogger, you can implicate adsense very easily. Adsense is an advertisement program through Google that allows you to advertise on your website, and earn money. Since blogger and adsense are both Google products, Google makes it nice and easy for you by automatically placing relevant ads on your blog once you activate it. Be very careful with the way you get traffic and the content on your site when you are using adsense, because once your adsense account gets banned, you can't ever get it back.

WordPress
WordPress is probably the most popular program that experienced bloggers use. WordPress gives many more customization options, but it comes at a price. It is not expensive, but you can make just as wonderful of a blog on blogger. WordPress offers many widgets and customization options that make it an obvious choice for serious, experienced bloggers. You may be serious about blogging, however, you are not experienced, so unless you have experience creating websites, and other things as such, I would strongly recommend that you start out using blogger, and if you decide, you can always export your blog to a new website.

What Can You Expect?
You shouldn't expect to make much money from your blog for a while, unless you have some amazing advertising technique that no one else knows about. Assuming you don't have that amazing marketing technique, you should start making a decent amount from your blog about one year after you start it. By then, if you blog consistently and often, then you should have a fairly large amount of regular viewers. So start a blog today, and don't delay your online income any longer!
